Rasaq is a PhD candidatein Veterinary Epidemiology at the Ontario Veterinary College, within theDepartment of Population Medicine at the University of Guelph, Canada. Hiscurrent research uses phenotypic laboratory data to investigate antimicrobialresistance in urinary Escherichia coli isolates from dogs and cats,leveraging national data from one of the largest commercial veterinarydiagnostic laboratories in the United States. He has extensive experience inlarge-scale epidemiological data analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling,and applying One Health principles to address emerging challenges in veterinarymedicine.
Rasaq obtained his Doctorof Veterinary Medicine degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at theFederal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. He also holds a Master ofScience (MSc) in Veterinary Epidemiology from the Atlantic Veterinary Collegeat the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Following the completion ofhis MSc, he served as a Public Health Epidemiologist with the Chief PublicHealth Office of the Government of Prince Edward Island within the Departmentof Health and Wellness, specifically in the Population Health Assessment andSurveillance Unit. In this role, he contributed to a range of initiatives,including projects related to the Canadian Chronic Disease Surveillance System,immunization programs, and health promotion activities for Islanders.
