Sidwatta Guy Ilboudo

Sidwatta Guy Ilboudo holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Inter-Etates of Sciences and veterinary School of Dakar (Senegal), a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics, and a Master's degree in Livestock Economics and Policy. He worked for three years as Head of the Animal Health Protection Department within Burkina Faso’s veterinary services. He started his research career at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), where he spent five years as a Research Assistant contributing to the implementation of various research projects related to infectious disease epidemiology, food safety, health economics, and One Health.

Currently pursuing a PhD at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Université de Montréal, his research focuses on exploring citizens’ opinions and perspectives, particularly those of women, in the prioritization of zoonotic diseases, with the aim of promoting more equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and gender-responsive health policies. His work is conducted within the framework of the ELUZO project (“Elles luttent contre les zoonoses” – Women Fighting Zoonoses), a Burkina Faso–Canada–Senegal partnership funded by Global Affairs Canada.
