    Exploring conceptions of microbes across academic, professional, and community spaces
  • Biographie :

    An interdisciplinary Anthropologist and passionate community leader, Nicole is dedicated to cultivating healthier communities through research exploring relationships between microbes across cultures, species, and environments. This passion has driven her academic training across biological, anthropological, and environmental fields, and forms the foundation of their community work in the Not-For-Profit sector. 

    Nicole is pursuing a doctoral degree in Population Medicine with One Health at the University of Guelph and is Summer/Fall 2026 Canopy Trainee. Her research will explore how microbes are conceptualized across academic researchers, healthcare providers, and community professionals. The aim of this Canopy Internship project is to identify barriers against effective zoonotic disease practices, policies, and programs and opportunities to improve microbial control measures.
